Developmental Disabilities
Did you know that 18% of Chicago’s South Side residents have been diagnosed with a disability, and many of these residents are uninsured and/or living below the poverty level? Through our long-established programs, the Abraham Lincoln Centre offers a wide range of services to children and adults who have a primary diagnosis of developmental disability. We are here to help.
- Each year the Centre serves more than a 1,000 clients, including children and adults diagnosed with a developmental disability, and their families.
- Provides 24-hour supportive housing.
- Offers therapeutic training programs.
- Provides care-giving through in-home residential respite programs.
- Works to ensure all of our families’ needs and preferences are addressed through assessment and case management services.
- We are an advocate for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities at state legislative meetings and policy discussions.
