Adult Computer Lab - Using an Operating System

The workshop begins with basic concepts and builds quickly to intermediate skills and techniques. Above all, this club is designed to teach technology skills, but always with an eye toward the use of technology to enhance individual opportunities, productivity, and quality of life. No prior experience with the technology or software is assumed.

Objective 3.1: Identify what an operating system is and how it works.

Objective 3.2: Be able to manipulate and control the Windows desktop, files and disks.

Objective 3.3: Be able to change system settings and install software.

Objective 2.1: Identify how software works and how software and hardware work together to perform computing tasks.

Objective 2.2: Identify different types of software, the tasks for which each type of software is most suited, and the popular programs in each software category.
