Adult Computer Lab - Hardware

The workshop begins with basic concepts and builds quickly to intermediate skills and techniques. Above all, this course is designed to teach technology skills, but always with an eye toward the use of technology to enhance individual opportunities, productivity, job readiness, and quality of life. No prior experience with the technology or software is assumed.
Objective 1.1: Identify different types of computers, how computers work (process information) and how individual computers fit into larger systems.
Objective 1.2: Identify the function of computer hardware components and common problems associated with individual components.
Objective 1.3: Identify issues relating to computer performance and how it is affected by different components of the computer.
Objective 1.4: Identify the factors that go into a decision on how to purchase a computer or select a computer for work or school.
