CHILD & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Giving Kids An Early Start Towards a Brighter Future

Funded by the City of Chicago Department of Children Services and CPS Community Partnership Programs

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

The Abraham Lincoln Centre operates several full and half day Head Start and Early Head Start programs teaching children 3-5 years of age the skills they need to succeed in school and later in life.   Our program teaches children through structured play, classroom, hands-on activities and group interaction, and enhances their social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development.  Give your preschooler an opportunity to demonstrate and practice decision-making and self-help skills in a safe, supportive environment.

CHILD & TEEN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Our Youth Development programs are designed to promote self sufficiency by providing safe opportunities for kids 6-11 and youth 12-17 years of age to develop academic, leadership and life skills. We offer high interest activities that are designed to improve the life chances and outcomes for youth, particularly disadvantaged youth. We help young people to build stronger relationships with adults, acquire higher educational aspirations, and improve feelings of personal efficacy.
